Regulations
Sender ID
The name or number displayed to the SMS recipient. Some countries require sender ID registration before businesses can send messages.
Sender ID is the from-field that SMS recipients see when they receive a message. It can be a phone number, short code, or alphanumeric string (like a company name).
Sender ID Types
- Phone number — your actual number (most trusted)
- Short code — 5-6 digit number (expensive, for high volume)
- Alphanumeric — company name like "MYBANK" (not available in US)
MySMSGate Approach
With MySMSGate, the sender ID is always your own phone number — the one on your SIM card. Recipients see a real number they can call back or reply to. No registration needed.
